Tasting different types of teas produced in Indonesia and understanding the art of tea blending using local ingredients. Participants will create their own tea blending guided by Ratna Somantri as the instructor.  The Participant will later entitle to bring their tea creation home.

SPEAKER PROFILE

Ratna Somantri is a passionate public speaker and writer in the world of tea. She is often interviewed by many print medias, as well as TV and radio talkshows in Indonesia, to share her passion and knowledge about tea. Her tea books (Kisah dan Khasiat The, The Story in A Cup of Teh and Iced Tea Book) are the first books in Indonesia to cover tea consumption in the context of modern and contemporary lifestyle. 

Ratna is an avid learner of tea, and has been through various courses with seasoned tea masters in Kuala Lumpur, Hongkong, Japan, and China. She took Tea Specialist certification from World Tea Academy in 2015. She learned Senchado, the Japanese Tea Ceremony, from Tea Master Yukiko Hasue in Hoenryu tea school, Japan.

Her seminars and tea tasting events are always entertaining with exciting story-telling which relates with urban lifestyle. Her favorite topics are those related with tea tasting, afternoon tea, tea-food combining, tea culture, mind and body health, as well as cooking with tea. She loves to cook – took her Diploma of French Patisserie from Le Cordon Bleu, Sydney. She is also the founder of Komunitas Pecinta The with more than 700 members. In 2014, she is appointed as the Head of Promotion of Indonesian Tea Board.
