The Local Market's mission is to provide a common space for all people to come together and build relationships. At the Local Market, people will share resources, skills and ideas to build a better community. At The Local Market, we feel passionate about showcasing local talent, artisans and small creative pop-ups while building a sense of community through our quality artisan markets. Our goal is to delight the senses and to create a fun space to hang out with family & friends where you can eat, drink, shop and share stories with the artisans.
This September, The Local Market will return with the theme ‘Wave of change’. For the last couple of years, the world has faced a crisis that is alarming, in part because Covid continues to evolve into something new and frightening. Covid has caused a global medical emergency we still do not fully understand. It has changed how we live, work, play and stay healthy. Covid is permanent. Going forward we need to adapt to a new normal, and this has motivate The Local Market team to host our customers differently and safely.
It is said that one person’s trash is another person’s treasure, and it’s never been more true than when it comes to upcycling, where waste is converted into new products that are superior to the original. This market will feature some of the most innovative merchants showcasing their upcycling alternatives featuring small Indonesian brands designed from waste material. You will also see regular favourite makers returning to display their wonderful wares.
The most important lesson learned from the COVID-19 pandemic is that people need to work together to solve problems that affect the entire human race. We are much stronger united than divided. As history has shown, choices made during crises can shape the world for decades to come. What will remain critical is the need for collective action to build economies that deliver inclusive economic growth, prosperity, and safety for all.
Our artisans will tempt you with their delicious foods, live music, workshops, demonstrations, traditional games, crafts and activities for the young and old. You and your family are sure to have a wonderful and memorable experience at The Local Market.
All market staff are vaccinated to adhering to health and safety standards, and providing safe and reliable access to nutritious foods necessary to a healthy community.
